Members of the Dutch Association of Bitcoin Companies agree to the following code of conduct:
Protect the consumer The Member Company complies with the law in its functioning, in particular the provisions in the Civil Code concerning the protection of the consumer in distance contracts and the Dutch Personal Data Protection Act as well as specific laws or regulations regarding the offered products and/or services.
Work together The Member Company adheres to the statutes and conditions of the Dutch Association of Bitcoin Companies and this code of conduct. Furthermore, the Member Company follows the standards of morality and decency that are accepted by society.
Contribute to a good reputation The Member Company will not do anything that could damage the reputation of the Bitcoin sector.
Fight fraud The Member Company prevents and fights Bitcoin-related fraud in collaboration with the other members of the Dutch Association of Bitcoin Companies.
Don’t accept cash The Member Company does not accept cash when exchanging Bitcoins for Euros (or other fiat money), due to the impossibility of tracing the origins of cash.
Make yourself clear The Member Company takes such measures that clear and unambiguous communication with its customers about its products and services is ensured.
Go for quality The Member Company strives for a systematic form of security and quality assurance that is in careful compliance with all legal obligations.
Spread the word The Member Company informs employees, as well as anyone else who so requests, of this Code of Conduct. This Code of Conduct is also available online.
